Nicholaus–

Good news–Congressman Welch has also sponsored a bill with language to promote AB811-type programs nationally. It looks like Senator Sanders will do the same on the Senate side. These would be a great complement to the REEP provisions and help in the critical area of financing. Stay tuned for a more complete EF update in this in the next couple of weeks.

Nicholaus can you elaborate on CA AB811 style programs?

spoke to someone in energy efficiency advocacy group Environment Northeast- said Welch’s REEP is great, but it is important to align with state, utilitiy and regional incentive programs so all incentives are coordinated to offer clarity to consumers. An important part of the political process is ensuring alignment of incentive programs.

Great to hear more federal support is on its way for these projects, but there is still the significant capital cost barrier to entry for most homeowners. Any idea if federal policy is in the works that will facilitate the formation of more CA AB811 style programs?
