I live in the Twin Cities (Minnesota) I am going to build a home, and I am thinking that of becoming environmentally friendly, I probably won't do a bit of of the "environmentally friendly things" like by making use of all recycled sources, or even bamboo floorboards, but more so, radiant floorboards home heating, all Energy Star machines (even getting an LED TV), Tankless hot water heater, french drain rainwater collecting (for water the garden) LED lighting, spray foam insulation etc. Does it seem sensible to acquire sun power panels? I understand that building instead of shopping for saves me 20% but heading full on ecologically friendly runs over twenty% more.
