New National Lobbyist for Efficiency First
The Efficiency First Board of Directors is pleased to announce that climate change policy strategist Kara Saul Rinaldi of the firm Environmental Resources Management (www.ERM.com) has been appointed to manageWashington, D.C. lobbying activities on behalf of the association. An internationally recognized expert in energy and climate policy, Ms. Rinaldi has more than a dozen years of experience in advocacy strategy development, lobbying and media relations in fields specifically related to building performance and residential energy efficiency.
Prior to joining ERM, Ms. Rinaldi was the Director of Government and Public Affairs for Owens Corning, a Fortune 500 company that is a leader in insulation technologies. Ms Rinaldi also held the position of Senior Director of Policy for the Alliance to Save Energy, a bipartisan nonprofit coalition of prominent business, government, environmental, and consumer leaders who promote the efficient use of energy worldwide. In this role, she worked closely with natural gas and electric utility providers to bridge site-source issues in tax and building code policy initiatives.
Ms Rinaldi has testified before congressional committees on energy policy and appeared in a variety of news media, including Fox News, CNBC, The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, Business Week, USA Today and The New York Times. In May, she appeared in the NPR News program All Things Considered in a lead-up to the House of Representatives vote on the Waxman-Markey climate bill.
