REEP Legislation Gains Further Support in Congress

Trailblazing energy retrofit bill up to 80 sponsors in the House of Representatives

The office of Rep. Peter Welch of Vermont, sponsor of the Retrofit for Energy and Environmental Performance (REEP) Program Act introduced in March 2009, reports this week that the bill now has 80 sponsors in the House of Representatives. The list includes:

    It appears from the list the majority of support comes from the Democratic camp. We need more support from the Republicans to get this initiative passed.

    Has this been separated from the Waxman Cap and Trade Bill? As a stand-alone bill, it might get some support from the Republicans.
