Home Performance Workforce Study Released

Efficiency First’s nonprofit research arm, the Home Performance Resource Center, has released an in-depth report examining the workforce and training needs of America’s home energy retrofit businesses. Green Jobs in the Residential Energy Efficiency Industry: The Home Performance Industry Perspective on Training and Workforce Development is now available online at www.hprcenter.org.

The report’s author, Elizabeth Redman, compiled data from a recent survey of Efficiency First members and interviews with more than 20 industry leaders to develop an overview of current and future Home Performance workforce needs. The study provides detailed information about job requirements, wages, accreditation and training methods, and offers specific recommendations for policymakers and training organizations as the industry scales to meet growing demand.
