Arizona:
- Chapter launch meeting was held on November 10th. A followup meeting will take place on December 8th. Click here for more information.
California:
- Addressing contractor concerns with Energy Upgrade California to the California Energy Commission and California Public Utilities commission: The CA Efficiency First chapter is finalizing letters to both the CEC and CPUC with recommendations to ensure the program is effective and works well for for contractors.
- Regional chapter meetings around the state have focused on Energy Upgrade California information and implementation.
Colorado
- National Director Jared Asch to attend the CO Energy Star Summit/ACI Regional Dec. 7 – 9.
Maine:
- Chapter launch meeting on November 30. RSVP here.
Michigan:
- An overflow crowd of 50+ contractors jammed the October Efficiency First Michigan Chapter Meeting in Lansing to hear about the new Home Performance with Energy Star Program. Jay Karwoski from ICF International and Sandra Wymer from Consumers Energy explained the program objectives, scope and contractor eligibility.
- Better Buildings for Michigan Program kicked off with first neighborhood sweep. Two of three RFP winners were EF members.
- Michigan Saves Home Energy Loan Program gaining momentum with contractors.
Maryland:
- Following up with recent filings to the Public Service Commission.
- Meetings with with Maryland Energy Administration on new incentives and loan program.
- Meeting with Maryland Clean Energy Center on new financing.
- Working on administrative items like chapter by-laws, licensing agreement.
Massachusetts:
- Following up on the MA chapter’s Mass Save Redesign Proposal for 2011.
New Jersey
- Ongoing work on 2011 plans for the New Jersey Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program. Click here to view recommendations submitted to program officials.
New York
- Continued work on Green Jobs Green New York program.
- Long Island regional chapter launched this month.
- Identifying advocacy opportunities for 2011.
North Carolina:
- Chapter launched on November 10.
- Priorities will include: Establishing connecting points between local utility companies and private sector home performance contractors; educating state and local policymakers about Home Performance; local program and grant opportunities.
Ohio:
- Most recent chapter meeting on October 28 included featured Bill Spohn who has been working with BPI on the new Home Energy Audit standard – 10/28/2010.
Oregon:
- As Clean Energy Works Oregon planning takes place, the Home Performance Contractors Guild of Oregon (Oregon Efficiency First Chapter) is working to ensure that the program is successful and that contractor concerns are addressed.
Vermont:
- Planning for legislator-education activities in 2011.
Virginia
- Beginning to plan for the 2011 legislative session, and to set the organizational structure for the chapter.
Washington State:
- Hosted EF National Director Jared Asch at the November meeting.
- Focusing on local workforce development issues in Washington State.
