Advocating for On-Bill Financing in New York
On Tuesday, home performance professionals in New York descended on Albany to ask state legislators to make their voices heard, as part of an Efficiency First New York-sponsored advocacy day.

Steve McKenna, Efficiency First New York Co-Chair, speaks with legislators and contractors about on-bill financing.
They made the trip to advocate for passage of On-Bill Recovery legislation which, if passed, would help homeowners retrofit their homes and create thousands of jobs across the state.
It was a busy day that started in the wee hours of the morning for many in the group, who drove distances to get to Albany in time. The day was jam packed with meeting and a legislator reception.
Dan Kartzman, Efficiency First New York Co-Chair, said, “The key to creating green jobs in the residential efficiency sector is making it easy and accessible for homeowners. This means allowing them to pay out of their savings in their energy bill – and that’s exactly what on-bill financing does.”
Tuesday’s advocacy day was just part of the work that Efficiency First New York and member companies are doing to move on-bill financing forward. Contact newyork@efficiencyfirst.org to get involved and for more information.
