Petition to CEC and CPUC: Improve Energy Upgrade California

Efficiency First California has submitted letters to the California Energy Commission and Public Utilities Commission, making specific recommendations for program improvements on program delays, rebate levels, financing, software, marketing plans and more.

Energy Upgrade California Whole House Program

This new Home Performance Incentive Program is a collaboration between Public Utilities Commission, Energy Commission, utilities, local governments and private sectors. Issues

  • PACE financing program (AB-811) and other sources of financing/rebates/credits: Collect suggestions, barrier solutions, and field experience from SF Bay professionals and officials. Track how programs are being implemented in cities and counties in the region. Figure out how people in our industry can tap into federal, state, county and city funds.
  • AB 758, Retrofit for Energy and the Environment Program (REEP), and Other active legislation: Figure out how SF Bay efficiency professionals can help support ongoing legislation efforts and what it means for the marketplace and our businesses.
  • Improving Business Performance and Marketing: Work together to build regional awareness of energy efficiency benefits. Identify challenges in the marketplace and help efficiency vendors work effectively together and with providers of renewable energy services. Focus on issues such as developing workable business models, developing a trained workforce and the best methods to train them, and finding practical solutions to barriers such as deferred maintenance tasks.
