California Training Reimbursement Grant:
Application Instructions and Eligibility

Eligibility

In order to be eligible to participate in this state-funded training reimbursement program, all trainees must be residents of California and currently reporting income or earnings in California. After your information is submitted, you or your company will be screened for eligibility.

How to apply:

All applicants must be Efficiency First members to be eligible for program membership. If not already a member, visit http://www.efficiencyfirst.org/join to gain membership.

You must first be approved to be eligible for reimbursement by Efficiency First. Once you are notified by Efficiency First program administrators of your approval to participate in the program, you will be eligible to enroll in classes for reimbursement. Any classes you enroll in prior to your notification of approval by program administrators may not be eligible for reimbursement and will be done so at your own risk and cost.

All Applicants:

Download and read the following documents and agreements. (Mandatory additional instructions are below for each specific business type.) Return the completed, signed, and dated forms to catraining@efficiencyfirst.org. Fill out all forms completely, as incomplete forms will be rejected and returned unprocessed.

Specific Applicant Instruction:

You MUST include additional forms below, depending on the category in which you qualify. Email additional forms, along with the above, to catraining@efficiencyfirst.org.

Sole Proprietors:
Business License

Independent Contractors:
Most Recent 1099 Statement

All Other Business Types:
Employer Certification Statement

Please allow up to fifteen business days for processing of your application materials. Once you are notified by Efficiency First Program Administrators of your approval to participate in the program, you will be eligible to enroll in classes for reimbursement.
Any classes enrolled in prior to your notification of approval by program administrators may not be eligible for reimbursement and will be done so at your own risk.


Class Enrollment:

Once your application is reviewed and approved by Efficiency First, you will receive a Program ID Code that you will use to enroll online for training classes through designated training providers. Courses are available through multiple providers: click here for a current list of approved providers and classes.

Any class enrollments NOT received through the enrollment page on the Efficiency First website and accompanied by the designated Program ID Code, WILL NOT be eligible for reimbursement through the program.

If you enroll a trainee for classes, but have not completed and submitted the Participation Agreement form for him/her, you will be required to complete and return the Participation Agreement form before receiving reimbursement. Failure to return this data in a timely manner will delay your reimbursement.
